KS1 tuition is for children in year groups 1  and 2.

We support children in the early years of their learning with phonics, reading and comprehension, all areas of maths including times tables and spelling, punctuation and grammar within early writing. 

We also will happily discuss any needs you think your child has and assess them accordingly to see what the best style of tuition is for them. 

For most children, we use the first session to assess where they are at with their learning and any gaps they may have. We then use this to base their tutoring sessions with us around. This ensures targeted learning across not only the current year group curriculum so they are on top of their learning for school but also to close any gaps from previous years learning that may not be quiet so secure. 

We also cater for children who seem to excel at school and would like further challenge.

In order to keep children focused in their tutoring sessions, we make sure they have plenty of opportunity to explore learning a particular topic in a variety of engaging ways. Of course, depending on the child some of our learning is more tactile, whereas for others, it it more work-book based, but for all, it is always fun! Learning should never be boring, children learn a lot more when they are enjoying it and engaged with their task!

Lower KS2 - Year 3 and 4

​

Often children find the jump from KS1 to KS2 quite a daunting one along with the jump in the level of work. Tuition in years 3 and 4 can be extremely beneficial if your child is struggling and losing confidence in themselves, before they hit years 5 and 6, when things jump up a notch, with new spellings to learn and a harder curriculum again. We often find if this is the case and this sounds very familiar then tuition within these age groups can set them up for a bright and happy start into upper KS2. We cover all areas of Maths, English and Reading and after an initial assessment in a tuition session, we can advise the best course of action going forward in order for your child to make maximum progress and close any gaps in their learning.  

 

Upper KS2 - Year 5 and 6

In years 5 and 6, the challenges can be great in all aspects of learning.

SATS support can be started for:

Year 2 - from the beginning of that year.

Year 6 from the beginning of year 5 or year 6.

​

This additional support works on the key skills needed not only to support the SATS, but to also help all aspects of reading, writing, maths, spelling, punctuation and grammar. The extra tuition is useful for all aspects of future learning.

Masterclasses are run at various times in the year and will often specialise in a particular topic area. This enables children who struggle with a subject area to have specific tuition and practise on it, in order to become more confident. We ensure that masterclasses are fun and informative and that children go away feeling a lot more confident about the subject area.

This tuition type is suitable for any child who is being home schooled in any capacity.

​

We offer regular tuition slots if parents would like daily support in any core subjects such as english, maths, reading and spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Alternatively, we can offer weekly tuition slots that are either one hour for one subject or 2-3 hours to cover another 2 or 3 core subject areas.
